Guests
We're always glad to see new faces among our congregation each week. If you should choose to visit Oakwood, here are few things to keep in mind;
Our Sunday Service times are 10:15am and 6:00pm. As you arrive, please look for the guest parking signs in our lot. Upon entering the building, you'll receive a bulletin from our greeters where you'll find current information about our church.
We won't embarrass you!
We know that it can be an intimidating feeling to be new to any environment, therefore we do not ask our guests to stand, or do anything to draw attention to themselves.
- During the service you'll be encouraged, from the pulpit, to fill out a GUEST CARD, located on the pink insert in the bulletin. So that we might have a record of your visit, we ask that you simply place the card in the offering plate as it passes.
- As you leave the service, our ushers will have a GUEST BAG for you to take home, as a token of your visit.
- According to the preferences marked on your guest card, you will receive a CONTACT, within the week, thanking you for your visit.
For the Kids - Children's Church
Following the special music, our children (ages 5yrs-2nd grade) are dismissed to Children's Church in B109. Children's Church offers a bible lesson, crafts, snacks, and games so they can learn in a fun and safe environment.
Many Ways to Get to Know the Church
Scripture teaches that the church is those called to faith in Christ, not the building where we meet. Therefore, we want to encourage you to visit us throughout the week and get to know the people of Oakwood.
Sunday School - Sundays, 9:00am
Classes for each age and stage meet throughout the building each Sunday morning. Please see our Sunday School page or our guest bulletin, when you visit, for a list of classes and join us for bible study before the AM worship.
Sunday Evening Worship - 6:00pm
Each Sunday night we meet to worship, study, and pray together as a body of believers.
Wednesday Night Activities - 5:30-9:00pm
Our midweek activities start with our Fellowship Meal at 5:30pm. See our Fellowship Meal page under the Resource page for menus, prices, and more. Our Fellowship Meal is free to first time visitors, so call the office (373-4733) and make a reservation by Tuesday, 10:00am.
Following the meal, we have Adult, Young Adult, and Youth bible studies at 6:30pm as well as AWANA from 6:30-8:00pm for kids (ages 2-12 years). Choir rehearsal closes the evening from 7:30-9:00pm.
We'd love to meet you in person, so please visit us this week at OBC!
Oakwood 101 is our introductory class for new and prospective members. This two-hour, staff-led session is offered quarterly, or based on interest. Please contact the church office for the next date and time for this great opportunity to learn more about Oakwood!
